Text Box: 1974 Fender Champ At $250 bucks or so on eBay, these are some of the best bedroom amps you can buy. They make great pedal platforms, are easy to fix up, and are the ultimate in low-volume, simple tube tone. One 12AX7, one 6V6, and a 5Y3 rectifier. I replaced the original speaker with a Weber Signature 8 Alnico. With some pedals up front, it’s pretty easy to make this amp roar.
